About
Early Bird registration through March 15!
We are thrilled to announce Mayfield Senior School‘s partnership with the national non-profit, Pollyanna, to host our inaugural conference, “The Call to Hope: Messengers of Justice, Builders of Community,” on Saturday, April 12 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
This conference provides a platform for members of faith-based schools to explore diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. It fosters collaboration through shared ideas, experiences, and knowledge, empowering participants to become change agents in their communities. Designed as a dynamic and interactive program, the conference offers guidance and training for community leaders.
Each school will participate as a School POD of approximately 15 members who contribute to advancing inclusion and belonging. We ask each school to send two representatives from the following groups, if possible: administrators, alums, diversity practitioners, faculty, parents, students (grades 6–12), and trustees, plus one head of school. A list of POD members will be due by March 15.
Our goal is to strengthen inclusion within school communities and highlight how racial, socioeconomic, and religious diversity enriches every aspect of education.
EVENT DETAILS
The morning will begin with brief opening remarks and keynote speaker, Dr. Jennifer Abe, interim director of the Marymount Institute and Loyola Marymount University (LMU) Professor of Psychological Science. The balance of the morning will be dedicated to workshops broken down by constituent groups, each individually facilitated. After a break for lunch, there will be a dynamic student presentation.
We will feature a breakout session focused on the experiences of elementary and middle school students, alongside our traditional high school panel. In the afternoon, each school will regroup for workshops to discuss next steps. The day will conclude with a closing share-out session.
REGISTRATION
The conference will accommodate the first 20 schools that register. The cost for each School POD to attend is $1,600 before March 15 and $1,900 after March 15. Note: We only need the contact person’s name now. POD names will be requested later.
Please be in touch if the cost is prohibitive for your school. Once you have completed the short registration form and submitted your credit card payment, you will receive an email confirming your registration. For additional information, please email [email protected]
