For 29 years, Mrs. Claudette Laureano has been the heartbeat of the Breck Orchestras, leading with a signature blend of “fire,” exacting standards, and deep devotion for every student in the program. She has taught generations of students that music is more than just notes on a page—it is a lesson in discipline, a study in collaboration, and a way to find one’s own voice. As she prepares to take her final bow this spring, we are launching the Claudette Laureano Legacy Fund to ensure the excellence she built resonates for the next 30 years and beyond.
Your contribution to this fund will directly support orchestral program enrichments. These enrichments may include professional coaching sessions, an artist-in-residence program, original commissions, and potentially, performance opportunities beyond Breck’s campus.

*Anyone who makes a gift of $1,000 or more by April 1st will be recognized as a founding donor and will receive 4 reserved seats for Stringfest 2026-Mrs. Laureano’s last Breck orchestra concert.

A generous anonymous donor has stepped forward challenging the Breck community to a $7,500 match gift for the Claudette Laureano Legacy Fund (CLLF). This donor will match any gift from a Breck Alum at 2:1 and all other gifts from the Breck community at 1:1 up to a total of $7,500! Help the fund reach its full potential with this match gift!

We are seeking gifts of all sizes to help us set the stage for honoring Mrs. Laureano’s incredible tenure at Breck. Your early commitment ensures that when we honor her at the Stringfest gala this April, we can present a fund that is well on its way to becoming a vibrant, healthy orchestra fund able to enrich the next generation of Breck Orchestra musicians.
In appreciation of contributing a Founding Donor leadership gift at the Virtuoso level and above ($1,000+) on or before April 1, we invite you to enjoy preferred, reserved seating for four at Mrs. Laureano’s final Stringfest concert on April 25. Additionally, all Founding Donors will be recognized in the concert program.

A Walk Down Music Memory Lane....an original commission for Breck School under Mrs. Laureano's Direction - a month ago
Listen to this beautiful piece. An original commission for Breck School composed by Shelley Hanson. This piece was commissioned by Mrs. Laureano specifically for Breck School’s Orchestra Program and performed at Stringfest 2009. In typical fashion, Mrs. Laureano received the Wiggley Award in 2007 and gave back to her students by having this piece commissioned.
