About
Corsairs Care, (formerly known as the Walkathon), has been an integral part of the Carmel Catholic High School experience for the past 46 years. What began in 1979 as a fundraiser to support the Mission of Carmel Catholic, has become an annual event for our students to serve the global community. The foundation of Carmel Catholic High School are the charisms inherited by our founders: the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) and the Order of Carmelites. Corsairs Care is one of the ways in which we actively live out those charisms, specifically service and justice.
On Friday, May 8, as we celebrate our 47th year; our students, faculty and staff will come together for a day filled with enthusiasm, prayer, fellowship, and experience the joy of faith and community!
Our students have been tasked to walk a 5k through the beautiful University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary grounds to raise funds for our new Corsair Student Center and support our Founders’ charitable service work. Specifically, this year’s funds will provide a new “Coffee Oasis” for all of our students to enjoy located in the social heart of our campus. This ambitious endeavor will be a gathering place for our students to share refreshments, community, and comfort.
Additionally, funds will be directed to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry serving our local communities on behalf of the Order of Carmelites, and to Bethany House of Hospitality which provides housing and support to young immigrant women on their journey to independence on behalf of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Please help grow our servant hearts and help us reach our fundraising goal. Please support a Corsair advocate today!
