Learning Together - Words That Bring Us Back: Restorative Communication at Home with Jason Craige Harris

The words we use in difficult moments can either deepen disconnection or create a path back to one another. In this fun, interactive and highly practical session, Pollyanna speaker Jason Craige Harris will introduce parents to restorative communication practices grounded in emotional literacy, Nonviolent Communication and the science of connection. Through relatable family scenarios, parents will explore how judgment, blame and shame can shut children down—and practice language that helps children name feelings, understand underlying needs, listen across disagreement and make clear, respectful requests. Parents will leave with concrete phrases and tools they can use immediately to navigate conflict, set boundaries and help children communicate with greater honesty, empathy and care.
