General Auction Rules - a month ago
Conditions of Sale
• All bids are binding and all sales are final. All items have been donated to The Elisabeth Morrow School and are sold by it, not the donor. Please do not request refunds or exchanges from donors.
• Please read carefully the restrictions and specifications on the individual auction lots outlined in this program. By making a bid, you agree to accept any limitations or restrictions required by the lot donor.
• All items are sold in “as is” and “with all faults.” The Elisabeth Morrow School makes no warranties or representations of merchantability, of fitness, nor of any other kind, express or implied.
• The Elisabeth Morrow School does not take any responsibility and waives any liability as to the correctness of descriptions, dollar value estimates, or conditions of any item. In no event shall EMS or anyone acting on its behalf be liable for any occurrence arising out of the use of these goods and services.
• Payment in full by the successful bidder must be made by cash, check, American Express, Visa or MasterCard on April 30, 2026, immediately following the close of auction.
• Unless otherwise specified, all items and services must be used within one year from April 30, 2026. The dates and times of mutual convenience for the donor and successful bidder should be arranged between those parties within 30 days of the auction.
• Bidding on an item indicates your understanding and acceptance of these Conditions of Sale. If a purchaser breaches any of these Conditions of Sale, including the obligation to pay for purchased items, The Elisabeth Morrow School may seek all remedies under the law including canceling the sale, offering the property to the next highest bidder and reoffering the property without reserve.
• The Elisabeth Morrow School reserves the right to withdraw any item at any time prior to the sale.
Silent Auction Rules
• Place your silent auction bid on the site.
• The auction system allows for automatic bidding. Once you’ve set your maximum bid, the auction software will automatically raise your bid by a pre-determined increment until your maximum bid has been met or the silent auction ends. If your maximum bid equals a previous bid, the previous bidder prevails.
• In the event of a bidding error, please notify an EMS advancement team member.
• The winner is the highest bidder as registered by the auction system at the close of the auction. The winner bid must be certified by the auction manager.
Tax Information
• The amount of your contribution that may be tax deductible for federal income tax purposes is limited to the difference between the donor’s estimated value and what you paid. Acknowledgements substantiating your payment will be sent to you. If you should pay less for an item than the donor’s estimate, your purchase may not constitute a tax-deductible contribution.
• The Elisabeth Morrow School does not provide tax advice. The above tax information has been included for informational purposes only, and is not intended to provide, and should not be relied on for tax advice. Please consult your tax advisor to determine the full extent of your tax deductions.
Good Luck and Happy Bidding!

Announcing our Honorees!
Jen Maxfield Ostfeld
We are delighted to honor Jen Maxfield Ostfeld, P: ’21, ’22, ’25, for her profound and lasting commitment to The Elisabeth Morrow School. An Emmy Award–winning journalist and dedicated EMS parent, Jen’s influence spans fifteen years of volunteerism and over a decade of visionary leadership as a trustee. Alongside her family, Jen has made transformative contributions to our campus, most notably with the dedication of the Ostfeld Community Field in Fall 2025. Her leadership, generosity, and tireless advocacy have helped shape the school we know today, and we are proud to celebrate her enduring impact.
Jackie Riley
We are honored to recognize Jackie Riley, P’17, for her extraordinary 34 years — and counting — of dedicated service to The Elisabeth Morrow School.
