Grandparents Day 2026 – The GRAND Tailgate!

The Precise Schedule Will Vary by Grade Level and Will Be Emailed Upon Registration.

Rather than our traditional February celebration, Grandparents Day will be held on Friday, November 13, as The GRAND Tailgate, a relaxed outdoor celebration. We will cordon off a large portion of our parking lot and designate the area for tailgate-style festivities.

During the event, we are encouraging that all K-5 students be accompanied by either a grandparent, grand-friend, or parent. Registration is required on this page for all attendees, including parents. For a K-5th student with no parent/grandparent in attendance, teachers and extra helpers will be onsite to ensure a wonderful time for every student.

This year’s event will focus primarily on activities and programming for grandparents of students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.

There will be no dedicated programming for grades 6th-12th this year. However, grandparents visiting 6th-12th grade students will still be able to enjoy time tailgating together or visiting classrooms from 10:35am-11:45am.

What to Expect:

Designated parking area and secure process for ‘checking-in’ once you arrive. For the safety of our students all attendees on campus must be registered prior and will be matched with those registration details once onsite.

Food trucks onsite for lunch and dessert purchases.

Plan to be self‑sufficient — no power or water access outdoors.

Accessible restrooms and classroom visits available for all grades.

Personal tents and portable grills are welcome, provided they do not require access to campus utilities. Please note that your parking location may be some distance from the grade-level hospitality and activity tents. If you plan to bring lounge chairs or other items, we recommend keeping your setup light and easy to move, as you may wish to relocate throughout the day, especially if visiting multiple grandchildren.

No tobacco, alcohol, or firearms permitted on campus.

Prefer to pack light? No problem — we’ll have scheduled activities ready for you and your grandchild to spend together.

There will be grade‑specific tents for K–5th, where each class’s programming will take place. The walk between tents is short, but if you have multiple grandchildren in K–5th, please anticipate a bit of overlap and some light chair‑shuffling between nearby tents.

What to Bring:

Pack portable (easy to carry) chairs and umbrella’s for shade.

If you have a portable canopy tent, feel free to bring it — although we anticipate sharing communal spaces and tents, so you might not need to set yours up, but it’s great to have just in case.

Please plan for a short walk from your vehicle to the designated hospitality area near your grandchild’s grade-level tent. We recommend bringing only items that are easy to carry and move throughout the day.

Food Truck Tips:

Hogwood BBQ, Mikeys Pizza and Bondi Bowls (fruit smoothie bowls) are confirmed.

Lines may get long — we’re planning well, and grandparents get priority in line, but patience is a virtue. Even if you plan to eat at the trucks, packing food and drinks in a small cooler is a wise move.
