About
Celebrating the Legacies That Define the Hilltop
For nearly two decades, the Kimball Union experience has been shaped by the dedicated faculty who call the Hilltop home. This spring, as faculty members Lyn and Tom Lord prepare to retire after more than 35 combined years of service, we are reminded of the profound impact our educators have on every generation of students. Since arriving on campus in 2006, the Lords have championed a culture of trust and authenticity, helping students find their voices and treating the entire campus as a living laboratory for discovery.
Their retirement is a meaningful reminder of the many faculty members, past and present, who have dedicated themselves to leaving Kimball Union better than they found it. Whether serving as a teacher in the classroom, a coach on the field, or a dorm parent in student residences, these mentors are truly at the heart of the KUA experience.
This spring, we invite the community to make a gift to the KUA Fund in honor of Tom and Lyn, or in tribute to any faculty member who shaped a Kimball Union journey. These unrestricted, current-use funds give Kimball Union Academy the flexibility it needs to address our most pressing issues. When you give to KUA’s annual fund, you are directly making an investment in the Academy today and supporting the KUA experience for our students. Your contribution helps provide the essential resources our faculty need to innovate and lead, funding everything from laboratory equipment and classroom tools to the professional development that sustains our teachers as lifelong learners.
Join us in honoring the mentors who define Kimball Union. To make a tribute gift, simply check the “Add a dedication in honor or in memory of someone” box during the donation process and share a note of gratitude in the comments section after making your gift. We look forward to sharing these notes with the faculty members you choose to celebrate!
