About

In 1967 Sally Smith started The Lab School when traditional schools were not successfully educating her youngest son Gary. From that personal need, a community was born, and for the past 59 years, The Lab School of Washington has continued to nurture the needs of our ever expanding community, empowering our students to embrace their differences as advantages.

Today, we ask that you join our giving community by making a donation of $5, $10, $15, or more. Your contribution - no matter the size - helps shape the learning environment our children deserve while honoring the legacy our founder built with love. Help us end the school year strong, because when 100% of our parents participate, we have one strong community - the way Sally intended.

Help us reach our goal of 100% parent participation - a month ago

The end of the school year is in sight, but there’s no sign of things slowing down at Lab!

We still have:

  • Academic Club Day
  • Field Day
  • 7 Days of Plays
  • Track and field, golf, flag football, and tennis
  • Field trips to The National Holocaust Memorial Museum, Nationals Park, and Swedenborg House

Every gift whether $5, $10, or $25 directly supports our students and empowers them to embrace their learning differences as advantages.
