About

It’s that time of year when we ask you to Be Our Hero and support our annual day of giving! This year, we hope you will share your Mayfield Ring Memories along with stories of your Mayfield Heroes.

BE OUR HERO TO THE FINISH LINE!

We know what an incredible gift it is to offer our students a strong, Catholic education, in our Holy Child tradition. The strength and generosity of our Mayfield community allows us to fulfill our purpose of inspiring young women to achieve academic excellence, deepen their spirituality, develop a commitment to social justice and make lifelong connections. Your gifts help our students grow into confident young women of “Actions Not Words.” There are many ways to make a difference in the lives of our students and teachers. And rest assured that your gift meets a need: empowering students to find a sense of purpose and belonging, as they become transformative agents of change in the world around them. For over 90 years Mayfield has relied on the kindness of our community—from Charles and Vera Strub to you!

OUR HOLY CHILD MISSION IS THRIVING, THANKS TO YOU.

Update #4 - 3 years ago

So much has changed in the world since my sisters and I had the joy of presenting our niece Lucy with her Mayfield ring in 2019, exactly 51 years after I had received mine. Supporting our beloved alma mater over the years has helped us to appreciate the ways in which Mayfield prepares today’s students for the future, while preserving the unique traditions of a Holy Child education.

Update #3 - 3 years ago

I wear my Mayfield ring each and everyday. Especially for a job interview, the first day of a job, or for an important presentation at work. I wear my Mayfield ring as a reminder of Mayfield’s motto “Actions Not Words.”

Update #2 - 3 years ago

I love my Mayfield class ring and still wear it on a regular basis. It has a mother of pearl background and the gold Mayfield emblem. I get many compliments - and it still fits!!!

Update #1 - 3 years ago

On my 25th birthday, I lost my Mayfield ring at a restaurant. I was heartbroken, mostly because my sister’s Ring Night was months away and I looked forward to “ring photos” with Emma (‘19). I placed an order for a new ring and impatiently waited for it to arrive. What I didn’t know was that Steve Bergen (who was Dean of Students and her history teacher at the time) told Emma my ring arrived at Mayfield with the Junior rings, and they planned to surprise me at Ring Night. The night of the ceremony, I checked the mail one last time and brushed off the disappointment. It was Emma’s exciting night, and I was just happy to give her ring to her. The Class of 2019’s ceremony was beautiful and set outside on Pergola Lawn. It was our turn to line up and wait for Emma’s name to be called. Nora Warren called her name and as we walked up she said, “Emma receives her ring from her sister Leah Weidman, Class of 2011. Leah also receives her ring from her sister Emma Weidman.” Kate Morin and Steve Bergen handed us our rings to put on each other’s fingers. I was speechless, and my eyes filled with tears while Emma put my ring on me! Kate hugged us both before we walked back to our seats. Losing my ring was absolutely the strangest blessing. I’m forever thankful that Mayfield gave me the most wonderful memory with my sister and best friend.
