About
Marjorie Lopus Jameson ’77 Endowed Scholarship
The Marjorie Lopus Jameson ’77 Endowed Scholarship was established through the generosity of Ms. Jameson, a proud Newark Academy alumna. She enrolled in 1972—in the early years of co-education—joining a class that included just 6 girls and 54 boys. That experience proved formative; it strengthened her voice, sharpened her resilience, and instilled a sense of confidence that has guided her throughout her life.
Throughout her time as a student at NA, Ms. Jameson was actively involved in both athletics and the arts, but it was the impact of her classroom teachers that left the deepest mark. Their encouragement and dedication sparked her enduring passion for learning and set her on a path of intellectual curiosity.
She created this scholarship to help ensure that future NA students have access to the transformative education she received at Newark Academy.
