The Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College is the living classroom for the students studying in the Animal Care and Training Program, a major at Moorpark College. Our mission is to inspire conservation action by providing engaging connections with wildlife and those who care for them.
With your membership, you can enjoy unlimited week-end visits to the Moorpark Teaching Zoo. During your visit, you can experience our training demonstrations, highlighting our students’ close working relationship with the animals in their care. Go to Keeper Talks, where you can connect with the Animal Care and Training Program students, who talk about various animal ambassadors. View feeding demonstrations: Watch as our student animal care staff demonstrate how we feed, train, and safely care for some of our animals. Experience Animal Meet and Greets: You never know when you may catch an animal out and about with it’s student animal trainers. Come eye to eye and learn about some of our animal ambassadors. Visit our brand new Tiger Habitat. Chill with Clarence the Galapagos Tortoise our 100 year old 500 lb tortoise. View our Male African Lion Ira, the aviary, the primate encounter, and much much more.
