Honoring Steve Brown and Erin Call
About
A Lasting Tribute to Exceptional Teachers
For more than half a century combined, Steve Brown and Erin Call have shaped the lives of Pine Point students in ways that extend far beyond the classroom. They have guided children through moments of uncertainty, sparked curiosity that lasts a lifetime, and helped young people discover who they are and what they are capable of becoming.
At the heart of their work is something deeply human: a belief in each child, a commitment to growth, and a steady presence when it matters most. As they retire from Pine Point, we have the opportunity to honor not just their years of service, but the thousands of moments, large and small, that have shaped generations of students.
Honoring Steve Brown
For more than 30 years, Steve has been a trusted guide for students entering Middle School, a moment that can feel both exciting and uncertain. With patience, humor, and quiet steadiness, he has helped students find their footing. He has taught them not only science and social studies, but how to navigate challenges, take responsibility, and see themselves as capable individuals.
Steve’s influence reaches beyond his classroom. His leadership in environmental stewardship has shaped programs that live on across campus, grounded in his belief that students learn best by doing and by caring for the world around them.
But perhaps what students remember most is how Steve made them feel: understood, supported, and seen.
Honoring Erin Call
For 21 years, Erin has inspired students to think deeply, question boldly, and embrace the challenge of learning. Her classrooms are alive with collaboration and conversation, students working together, testing ideas, and building understanding that goes far beyond memorization. She has helped students see that learning is not about getting the answer quickly, but about understanding it fully.
Erin’s impact extends across disciplines and experiences, from math and science, to cross-curricular projects, and service. In everything she does, she models curiosity, growth, and a genuine love of learning.
She has shown her students that learning is not something you finish, it is something you carry with you for life.
