About

We invite you to gather at Seabury Hall’s iconic Reflection Pond, with the historic Cooper House as its backdrop. Under the glow of Maui’s upcountry evening, this intimate night will bring our community together in the spirit of Laulima—“many hands working together”—to celebrate and support Seabury Hall.

Guests will enjoy a buffet of island flavors prepared by Seabury’s own Chef David, followed by an unforgettable dinner-show with Brother Nolan. Through music and talk story inspired by his book The Hawaiian Survival Handbook, Brother Nolan will share reflections on the art of being aware—how we connect past to present, tradition to innovation, and people to place. His message resonates deeply with Seabury’s vision as we embrace technology to enhance learning, preparing our students to navigate the future while grounded in the wisdom of Hawaiʻi’s heritage.

As the evening flows from song to story, from paddle raise to shared laughter, we will stand together—students, families, alumni, and friends—strengthening the foundation of Seabury Hall for today, tomorrow, and generations to come.

BROTHER NOLAND

COMPOSER, INNOVATOR, EDUCATOR, PIONEER, LEGEND…

Brother Noland Conjugacion is a celebrated Hawaiian musician, songwriter, storyteller, and author. A founding voice of contemporary Hawaiian music in the 1980s, his hit “Coconut Girl” became an island anthem and helped spark a genre blending roots reggae rhythms with Hawaiian stories and values. He is also the author of The Hawaiian Survival Handbook, sharing lessons of awareness, resilience, and living in harmony with the land and sea. In 2019, the Hawai‘i Academy of Recording Arts honored him with the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Award. Through mele and talk story, Brother Noland continues to inspire with his artistry, wisdom, and aloha spirit.
