About
For more than 200 years, the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau has stood as a place of faith, learning, and formation—shaping young women and now young men to lead lives of purpose, compassion, and service rooted in Catholic values. Our historic campus is more than brick and mortar; it is a sacred space where saints have walked, generations have prayed, learned, and grown.
As stewards of this legacy, we have a responsibility to care for the facilities entrusted to us, especially our historic buildings, which require constant and careful maintenance. Over the past several years, the school has undertaken significant, essential infrastructure repairs to ensure the safety, comfort, and longevity of our campus. These projects included:
- Replacement of aging HVAC systems
- Roof and balcony repairs
- Critical structural and maintenance updates
These were not cosmetic improvements. They were necessary investments to protect our students, faculty, and the historic character of the campus. While these projects were unavoidable, they resulted in debt that now impacts our operating budget and limits our ability to direct resources fully toward academics, tuition assistance, and student programs.
Today, we are asking for your help.
By helping retire debt incurred by necessary building repairs, your gift will:
- Strengthen the long-term financial health of the school
- Add $400,000 back to the annual operating budget - supporting academics, tuition assistance, and student programs.
- Further the mission of Saints Madeleine Sophie Barat and Rose Philippine Duchesne in providing exemplary Sacred Heart Catholic education for our students
Every gift, regardless of size, makes a meaningful difference. A contribution of $1,000, $1,000,000 or whatever you are able to give is an act of stewardship—one that honors the past while investing in the future.
We are deeply grateful for your continued belief in the Academy of the Sacred Heart. Together, guided by faith and shared commitment, we can ensure that this sacred place of learning remains strong for generations to come.
