Join us on June 12-14 at The Winchendon School in Winchendon, MA to celebrate 100 years of Lloyd Harvey Hatch’s vision of individualized education.

The Centennial Celebration weekend honors 100 years of history, community, and impact at The Winchendon School. Founded in 1926, Winchendon has built a legacy of academic excellence, athletics, creativity, and close-knit community values that continue to shape generations of students and alumni. This milestone weekend brings together alumni, families, faculty, and friends to celebrate the past, reconnect in the present, and look ahead to the next century of Winchendon excellence.

Guests will enjoy a full schedule of festive and meaningful activities throughout the weekend! Be sure to check out the schedule and register for all of our special events. The following opportunities will also be available all weekend long and do not require registration:

  • Centennial Exhibit, Marr Library: Explore the Centennial Exhibit showcasing photos, memorabilia, and stories from Winchendon’s history. Interactive displays and QR codes will allow guests to learn more and contribute to the school’s legacy of giving.
  • Golf at the Gardner Municipal Course: Reserve a tee time and enjoy a round of golf with fellow alumni and friends. Shuttles will be available throughout the day to the course in Gardner, with guests paying their own greens fees. Reach out to [email protected] for more information.
  • Mount Monadnock & Mount Wachusett Hikes: Relive Mountain Day, a Winchendon tradition since 1965. Enjoy the natural beauty of New England with self-guided hikes at nearby trails. Shuttles will be available throughout the day and trail maps will be provided. Centennial guests are encouraged to explore at their own pace.
  • Tennis and Pickleball: Get ready to swing, serve, and socialize! Grab some friends and head over to the Ladeau Tennis Courts. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just looking to have fun on the court, this is a great way to enjoy our campus and catch up with friends. Don’t forget your racket!
  • School Store: Shop Centennial-branded apparel, vintage gear, and Winchendon merchandise.

The Centennial is more than a celebration; it is a tribute to the thousands of students, faculty, and families who have helped build The Winchendon School and Hatch Prep’s 100-year legacy. As we celebrate this historic anniversary, we also look forward to the future with gratitude, pride, and excitement for what comes next.

Welcome Party at the HUB

Join us at The Hub for a Welcome Party to kick off the start of the weekend! Come meet new people, reconnect with friends, and enjoy a fun, relaxed atmosphere with music, bowling, dinner, and refreshments. We can’t wait to see you there!

Saturday Activities

Softball Tournament

Complimentary

Join alumni and friends for friendly softball games featuring team captains and fun for all ages. Kids ages 6–12 will play first, followed by older players. Registration includes a free T-shirt, with Centennial hats available for purchase.

Campus Tours

Complimentary

Take a guided tour of campus and see how Winchendon has grown and changed over the years. Tours are available at 10:00, 10:30 or 11:00 and last about 30 minutes.

The Marr Family Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony

Complimentary

Join us for the special Centennial ceremonies honoring our Hall of Fame Inductees, and their legacies and achievement at The Winchendon School. Registration is encouraged so that we can properly plan for the event.

Food and Beverage Options

All You Can Eat: Breakfast, BBQ Lunch, and Dinner

Make the most of your Centennial Saturday with our all-you-can-eat dining pass at The Winchendon School. This option includes access to the continental breakfast, the outdoor barbecue on the Quad, and the full evening dinner celebration, all for one flat rate.

Come hungry and enjoy a full day of great food, great company, and classic Winchendon hospitality.

All You Can Drink Saturday (21+ only)

$50

Raise a glass to 100 years at The Winchendon School with our all-you-can-drink Saturday pass. This 21+ option includes beer, wine, and featured beverages served during the barbecue, cocktail hour, and evening celebration. Please note: this pass is the only way to purchase and consume alcohol during Centennial weekend; alcohol will not be sold separately at any event. Guests who purchase this add-on will receive a wristband at check-in for easy access to beverages throughout the day. Cheers to celebrating responsibly and in great company!

Dinner + Drinks on Saturday Night (21+ Only)

$80

Please note that if you registered for the $50 all you can eat option and the $50 all you can drink option, you do not have to purchase this as well! Perfect for those who can only join us later in the day, this ticket ensures you won’t miss the signature gathering of the weekend as we celebrate 100 years of Winchendon together.

Join us for the highlight of the Centennial weekend with our dinner and drinks only registration at The Winchendon School. This option includes access to the full Saturday evening celebration: cocktail hour, a festive dinner, wine and beer, music, and dancing with classmates, faculty, and friends.

Please note that if you registered for the $50 all you can eat option, you do not have to purchase this as well! Perfect for those who can only join us later in the day, this ticket ensures you won’t miss the signature gathering of the weekend as we celebrate 100 years of Winchendon together.

Accomodations

Stay in the Dorms!

$100

Stay on campus and enjoy the full Centennial Weekend experience! Dorm rooms are available for alumni and guests who would like to stay at Winchendon during the celebration.

  • Maximum occupancy: two adults per room
  • Two-night minimum stay required
  • One child may stay in the room if they bring a sleeping bag or other bedding

Please note that linens are not provided, so guests should plan to bring their own sheets, blankets, and pillows.

Rooms will be assigned in advance of the event. While we will do our best to accommodate requests, specific room choices are not guaranteed.
