Newman Family,
Good Afternoon! Thank you to each and every one of you for supporting our 2nd Annual Newman Day of Giving. As of this afternoon, we have raised $212,858 with 473 supporters. As you may already know, our Day of Giving is designed to secure 60% of the monies needed for The Newman Fund, which funds all of our annual operating expenses. We are grateful for the increased participation this year because our ultimate goal is to connect with our alumni, family and friends. We look forward to the growth of our Catholic community.
In the event you weren’t able to participate in the Day of Giving as you planned or you have felt the call to increase your donation and commitment to the mission of Newman Central Catholic, you may donate at any time throughout the year. You may visit givenewman.org to submit an online donation, stop into the school offices, or drop a donation in the mail. We look forward to hearing from you! This year, our annual Day of Giving is Thursday, October 13th! One Day - $350K. This is a 24 hour event to celebrate who we are, where we come from and to make a commitment to passing on the values we share to new generations. All money raised goes towards the Newman Fund.

As this day comes to an end, it has a special meaning for those in the Newman Family. Hopefully this day brought good memories to many people and recalled special moments in the lives of those connected with this school. Just as this day will bring these special memories to many, it also brings a memory of a special event in the life of the Church that happened on this day 105 years ago. This day is called The Day the Sun Danced and refers to a special miracle our Blessed Mother sent to three little children in the small town of Fatima , Portugal. She promised them this miracle so all could believe she had come to our earth once again to ask people to pray and offer sacrifices for the conversion of Russia and the end of war –the 1st World War and for peace. These petitions of our Lady still need to be addressed in our time, and it is through schools like Newman that this is done. As this Day of Giving draws to a close, let us offer our thanks for all who make it possible to have a Catholic High School that promotes prayer and sacrifice to bring peace and conversion to the hearts of many.
