The Fund for CWA 2024-25
When you make a gift to CWA, you invest in our students and faculty. The Fund for CWA is essential to our school, supporting current-year operating expenses not covered by tuition. We rely on our school community to contribute meaningfully to ensure we can provide an outstanding education for every student so that they may develop the skills to successfully navigate the future with confidence.
What is the Fund for CWA?
The Fund for CWA (formerly known as the Annual Fund) is an unrestricted fund that helps cover general operating expenses, including financial aid, technology, arts, sports, facilities, and more! Independent schools, including CWA, have always relied upon the generosity of parents, grandparents, alumni, families of alumni, and community partners to support these operating funds that bridge the gap that tuition dollars can’t cover.
Why should I give?
By contributing to the Fund for CWA, you sustain the school’s ability to be an educational leader in the community and continue inspiring active, joyful learning for our students, staff, and faculty every single day.
Why are we asked every year to give to the Fund for CWA?
The Fund for CWA is an annual campaign that plays a vital role in the financial strength of our school by providing for expenses not covered by tuition or interest from our endowment. The operating budget of the school is supported in large part by gifts made to the Fund. As tuition dollars meet only part, or about 75% of the actual cost of educating a student, we need to raise additional funds each year to support the gap between tuition and other income and the actual operating cost of the school. Charles Wright Academy is a non-profit, independent organization that operates without financial assistance from any public source.
Why is my participation in the Fund for CWA important if I can only make a small gift?
Independent schools represent a unique form of education in our society and independence demands an above-average commitment on the part of its members. The participation level of our alumni, faculty, families and students in fundraising efforts shows other potential donors our willingness to invest in the school’s overall success. Corporations, foundations, and other CWA partners look at voluntary support levels when deciding to make a major gift to our school. Every gift makes a difference, no matter the amount.
