My grandmother, Lucy Carnegie Ricketson Ferguson, loved EWS and made dear friends there. I remember meeting one of them with my grandmother and also at Walker's events later on. Her name escapes me at the moment, but she lived on Trapelo Road in Belmont, MA. Seeing what wonderful pals they were - even as older ladies! - impressed me mightily! I am still friends with a number of women I met at EWS, and I am THRILLED to see how the school has grown to open opportunities for MANY young women, of all backgrounds! Very exciting to me to see that EWS reflects our world today in ways that it did not when I was a student there. I learned so much from my devoted teachers - Mme. Simone Le Faivre, Miss Hunt, Miss SIndall, Miss Schutrum, "Miss B" (Mrs. Bockstoce Hoar) - I am forever grateful. Miss Ferguson had her hands full with all of us - but somehow we made it through!

It was a joy to be at the reunion on Saturday to march with alums, hear wonderful and moving speeches and music at chapel, and to induct the fabulous seniors into the Alumnae Association as a member of the Alumnae Board. Gorgeous weather, great conversation, great spirit, and Meera's state of the school! So many amazing and inspiring things happening at Walker's today. Join me in supporting our alma mater!

Alumnae before me made it possible for me to get the amazing education and 4 years of experiences at Walkers, and I want to do my part to make it possible for students to benefit from all the Walkers has to offer. Ann A. Bliss was an Ethel Walker faculty member, dorm parent and my assigned advisor during my senior year at Walker’s. Ann unconditionally took me under wing during a very difficult time in my life. For that, I am forever grateful! After Ann’s tenure at Walker’s, she was a Yale Professor for 26 years, one of the founders of the Physicians Associates Program, consultant to the Robert Wood Foundation and author of several books. She was an inspiring mentor in my education and business, the fuzzy mother I never had, and my best friend for over 50 years!

I'm so impressed with the Walker's of today and what you are doing to educate and prepare the young women of tomorrow.
