Howe Dewdney Residence Hall Challenge

I miss Cynthia and Murray every day. Cynthia was one of the first people I met over ten years ago when I interviewed, and we shared many academic background experiences. I worked with both Cynthia and Murray on the Academic Council and throughout the years. Even though I'm about to retire, I value and so appreciate everything they taught me about teaching, learning, and compassion.

Two wonderful models for passionate teaching.

I will be forever grateful for Cynthia's warmth, guidance, and kindness as my college counselor.

I am so lucky to have worked alongside Cynthia and Murray!

Cynthia and Murray are dear, lifelong friends. I knew they would accomplish great things in life, and they did.

Cynthia and Murray are an integral part of KUA lore. We can't think of a more appropriate commemoration of them and all that they have done for KUA, its faculty/staff, students, and constituents.

Karen, Nathaniel, Nick, and I came to KUA in 1994 because Cynthia and Murray were here. We stayed, in large part, because they did.

My daughters were blessed to have Cynthia and Murray as houseparents. I am forever grateful for their caring.

No two people on this entire earth are more deserving of this honor than Ms. Howe and Mr. Dewdney. There are countless bits of wisdom and advice that I carry with me every single day from them. I truly would not be the person I am today without having both of them help shape me in some of my most formative years.

So grateful to help name a dorm after such amazing educators and humans!

They were amazing dorm parents, friends, and KUA family. I wouldn't be where I am today and Cynthia hadn't told me that she found my college and I had to visit Dickinson College. Mr Dewdney was so much fun and inspired all of us to work hard and play hard. I have nothing but great memories when I think of my time with them.

I had the privilege of living with Cynthia and Murray my sophomore year at KUA. Both are phenomenal humans; Cynthia in particular likely saved my life several times. With love and care for their love and care.

Truly amazing people who have impacted so many lives. May their legacy endure and continue to inspire generations to come.

They were great mentors to me while at KUA and beyond. Amazing people and so deserving of this honor!

We can not think of a better way to honor two icons of Kimball Union Academy. We learned so much from both Cynthia and Murray during our time at KUA, and we continued to learn from them even after we left in 2005. We miss Cynthia dearly and we are humbled to be able to assist in honoring her, Murray, and the extended Howe-Dewdney family by contributing to this lasting legacy honoring their commitment to the Kimball Union Academy community for so many years.

When we arrived, Murray and Cynthia were wrapping up an amazing career and life committed to the people and place that is KUA.

Gardens full of purple flowers, a purple garden hose, and multi-colored holiday porch lights would all be in order. We're on it!

I can't think of anyone else more worthy of this honor than Murray and Cynthia. They exemplify all the goodness that is Kimball Union. Their dedication to their students was one of a kind, and I know that I am merely one of the many who were blessed to have benefited from their time on The Hilltop and beyond. Words can't express my gratitude for their love, wisdom, and support over the years!

Cynthia and Murray will forever represent the best of KUA and the best of all of us. Thank you for this opportunity to share our gratitude and express our love for the Dewdney-Howes and the entire KUA family.

This is a perfect honor for two amazing educators. Cynthia and Murray represent the heart and soul of KUA: dedicated, generous, brilliant and kind. Everyone they touch is special and I feel blessed to have worked with them for 26 years.

Cynthia and Murray's incredible contribution was huge, to the well-being of my two daughters, Hannah and Faith Larsen, and to the school full of students who benefited in so many ways through dorm life, sports, learning supports, college counseling, and so much more.
