Q:

When is 2025 Reunion Weekend?

A:

This year Reunion events will be hosted June 5-10.

Q:

Who is being celebrated?

A:

Classes ending in 5 and 0 are celebrating the traditional reunion milestones. The Class of 1975 celebrates their 50th reunion.

Q:

What's my class doing?

A:

Class-specific events provide a great opportunity for a more intimate, class-focused environment during reunion weekend. Classes are responsible for planning their gatherings sometime throughout the weekend. If you are interested in organizing a gathering or are still waiting to hear from a classmate, please email [email protected]. You can also visit the Reunion Website in May 2025 to learn more about your class’s plans.

Q:

I graduated in 1975 and am celebrating my 50th reunion. Is there anything special happening on campus for my class?

A:

We invite you to the 50th Reunion Reception on Thursday, June 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Enjoy a light lunch, and feel free to bring your spouse or significant other. The event will also feature remarks from our head of school, Kai Bynum, followed by a campus tour.

Q:

I have heard the 50th Reunion Class is invited to walk in the commencement procession. When does this happen?

A:

The Lakeside Class of ’75 is warmly invited to join the Class of 2025 in the traditional commencement procession. We will gather at McKay Chapel at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, for light refreshments before donning our robes for the procession. Please register in advance to participate.

Q:

What's happening at Lakeside?

A:

There will be a Head of School Reunion Welcome and Reception Reception on June 6. The welcome will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the reception at 6 p.m. You and a guest are welcome to join us for an enjoyable evening outdoors on the Upper School Quad. Drinks and dinner will be served, and the tented space will offer something for every decade. So whether you’re interested in finding a chair under the big tent to sit and stay awhile, moving around, or playing lawn games—you will have a great time!

Q:

What does "tented event" mean?

A:

The reunion celebration will occur under the large tent up for Commencement the day prior. The tent allows for more space, flexibility, and fresh air.

Q:

What should I wear?

A:

The Reunion Reception is a casual outdoor event, and we will celebrate rain or shine! Please check the forecast and dress accordingly. We suggest leaving the formalwear at home in favor of comfortable layers, shoes appropriate for walking on grass, and waterproof if it’s drizzly.

Q:

When will the food be served?

A:

Food and beverages will be available throughout the event. There is no formal, sit-down dinner.

Q:

Is there a program?

A:

There will be a Head of School Reunion Welcome prior to the tented reception. This brief program will take place in the Wright Community Center and will include a head of school update, along with special recognition for those celebrating reunion milestones and donors.

The reception event will be unprogrammed, allowing alumni and their guests to catch up with friends, enjoy fantastic food and drink, play lawn games, and have their class photos taken.

Q:

This is an adults-only reception, but can I bring my baby?

A:

We kindly ask that if you do bring your baby, please ensure they are in your arms and not yet walking. The reunion event is not designed for children.

Q:

When will we take class portraits?

A:

Classes will have the chance to have their portrait taken at a designated time.

Q:

What will my parking options be?

A:

Carpooling and rideshares are encouraged to minimize cars on campus. The carpool/rideshare drop-off location will be at the Red Square roundabout.

If you drive, here’s what you need to know:

On-campus parking lots will be first come, first served. Reunion brings an influx of cars to our campus and the surrounding neighborhood. Please note that there is limited street parking in the area.

We expect all members of our community to be considerate of our neighbors. Seattle’s municipal code states that there is no parking within five feet of a driveway, mailbox, or alley.

There is no parking along 1st Avenue NE fronting the Middle School property and NE 140th Street between 1st and 4th avenues, where “no parking” signs appear. The city of Seattle regularly patrols these streets and tickets and tows illegally parked cars.

Q:

I can't attend the Reunion Reception this year. Do I have any other options to connect?

A:

Whether you can make it to the reunion reception or not, you’re invited to learn more about the Alumni Programming Grants. Programming Grants are a fantastic way to bring together Lakeside alumni across multiple classes during reunion weekend, regardless of where you are! Please visit www.lakesideschool.org/alumni to learn more.
