I found this clipping in an old yearbook. It reminded me how inspired and motivated I was during the time I spent with Doc. She treated me and all of the theatre students like professionals, and she sparked a lifelong artistic curiosity in me as well. From studying/working in theatre in NYC to writing/publishing a book, this artistic sensibility has carried me through a lot. We lost touch and I doubt she even knows I am working at Mayfield now, but wanted her to know that she was and will always be a Mayfield hero for me. Love you Doc!

I already made a donation today in honor of my former theatre teacher, but I would be remiss if I didn't celebrate another Mayfield hero from my student days, Maureen Grady, who was at the helm of the Writing Conservatory at the time. She shared her many passions with her students, and it was impossible not to admire her. She had an inexhaustible love for the arts and irrepressible laugh that thundered into every room. She was one of a kind and I wanted her to know that she influenced my life for the better. Maureen, whenever you are back from Ireland--or wherever you are in the world!--let's have a cuppa.
