Pulling Together for Millbrook's Giving Day
What is the Annual Fund?
Each year parents, alumni, parents of alumni, and friends are asked to make charitable gifts to Millbrook’s Annual Fund. These contributions supplement tuition income and enable the school to meet its annual operating expenses. The 2023 - 2024 Annual Fund goal of $2,525,000.
Every Millbrook student benefits from gifts to the Annual Fund and receives a hidden financial aid award. This amount is the difference between tuition and the true cost of educating each student. The operating budget for this year is $25,573,448.
What kinds of expenses does the Annual Fund underwrite?
The Annual fund directly supports the essentials and the extras and provides the margin of excellence that we all associate with Millbrook’s faculty, program, and plant. Faculty salaries, financial aid, maintenance of the plant, the community service program, forum speakers, visiting artists and musicians, athletic uniforms, officials and transportation, art materials, and professional development opportunities for the faculty are some of the many programs which are greatly affected by the magnitude of the Annual Fund.
Why should I give to the Annual Fund?
First, participating in the Annual Fund to the best of your ability is one of the most meaningful ways to show support for your child’s school and the people who make a difference.
Second, the Annual Fund ensures quality in all that Millbrook is and does. It secures the current educational experience that we as parents of Millbrook students have come to value and respect. Millbrook students – our children – deserve the best education that we can provide.
How to increase my impact?
• Pledges: We accept pledges and with the larger gifts we accept pledges that extend out over two years (e.g., beyond the graduation year).
• Family Gifts: Gifts from grandparents of VIth formers count towards the $400,000 goal. We encourage family gifts.
• Matching Gifts: Don’t forget to mention matching gifts. A corporate match may double a gift amount.
• Recurring Gifts: Recurring gifts help to budget and stretch gifts. No gift is too big or too small to set up this way!
