In memory of Stephen Drosdeck

Stephen Drosdeck began the Intermediate Division in 2007 and served as its director as well as the curriculum director for the school for ten years. He touched countless lives with his unwavering dedication and genuine love for our children. He described the Intermediate School as the “Golden Age of Childhood.” His leadership has left an indelible mark on our school community, shaping it into the nurturing and inspiring environment it is today.

OTS and greatly improved Evelyn's happiness and desire to learn. It's really been a dramatic improvement in her life.

OTS provided a wonderful foundation for my children.

In honor of Patty Wyman

As a performing artist myself, the arts are near and dear to my heart. I passionately believe that, not only is appreciating art an essential part of a good education BUT art also provides an important way for creative young humans to think, communicate, and process emotions. As a student, I was a perfectionist, and pretty hard on myself in every area. But the arts were my sweet spot, where I felt I had natural talent and "belonged." Old Trail School has always had a robust and wonderful art curriculum, which I enjoyed for many years, particularly under Patty Wyman. It was such a joy to see her teaching my son last year, attached is a picture of them together. He had taken a project home from her class and continued creating, Here he had brought it to school to show her. This is a great example of everything one wants in their child's education: excited about learning, continuing to use that learning home, and proud to show their teachers whom they trust so much. I recently enjoyed the art show at OTS, which had many projects that looked a lot like what I had done in the '90s (in the best nostalgic way). These type of projects, and Patty's love of art, instilled in me a life long appreciation of visual art. Whenever I travel, the art museum is first on my list! And similarly, supporting OTS is first on my list so that not only my own children, but countless others, can enjoy a truly well rounded education. And also so, no matter what they are good at, they have a way to express it. This gift is in honor of Patty and her amazing legacy. As we say at my ballet school after we dance: thank you for the magic:)

As someone who benefitted from scholarships made possible by previous donors, I have been paying it forward from the day I graduated from OTS.

What a great place for our kids to spend some/all of their middle school years! We are truly grateful for the teachers and staff that guided them through that time in their lives.

Our many years as Old Trail School Parents were incredible. Our 3 graduates became life long learners who truly value education. We are grateful that our grandson is now a student and loving it ~ Thank you OTS

OTS = Lifelong friendships! Just a month ago when I came back to Akron to watch the eclipse I had lunch with Old Trail classmates…. Lori ( Pritchard) Holsinger and I went K - 12 together at OTS and Jacque ( Jones) Marshall joined our class in Junior High. We get together at least a couple times a year when I come back to town to visit family & friends! We have birthdays within 3 weeks of one another so we celebrated at Gasoline Alley in Ghent.
