S. Rita Cecile's rigorous math classes set me up for a career in science and teaching. They were not easy, but developing the habits of hard work, persistence and striving for excellence were worth it, though we may not have all recognized it the time!

I must confess- I had not donated to this beloved high school of exceptional learning for many years until the pandemic hit. COVID made me think and reflect differently, helping remind of what has been more meaningful in my life. I do regret that I did not have that wisdom sooner. As challenging as this time was, it also offered time to reflect. Regina Dominican and the faculty/family that helped develop the start of my nursing career- especially Mrs. Hays and Sr. Joan, had a direct influence towards my career at HCA and Vanderbilt. Now my two girls, Madolyn (UTK-direct nursing admit/Senior) and Colleen (UTC- Psychology & Behavioral/Sophmore), also are in the healthcare field. I have no doubt that my experiences influenced them in their choices. They can carry on the tradition of a strong, confident, empowered and continued leaders into this world. There is no doubt in my mind that my family & my girls would not be where they are- serving- without my experience within this special place of growth. God Bless.
