2024–2025 Annual Fund
Why should parents consider an Annual Fund gift when we already pay tuition?
The cost of educating a student is significantly more than tuition. Annual Fund gifts help bridge that gap of approximately $3,000/student. It is worth noting that most independent schools, like other non-profits, rely on philanthropy to meet their mission!
How much should I give?
There is no one-size fits all when it comes to gift amounts and we have families giving at a range of levels that are meaningful to them—and to us. We hope that families will make Tower one of their philanthropic priorities recognizing the impact their gift can have at the school. All gifts, regardless of amount, have an impact on all that we do. The school has established giving levels that some families may find useful when determining how much to give.
Why is parent participation important?
High Annual Fund participation rates are a sign of confidence in our school and send a powerful message to others in our community. Gifts of all amounts count toward parent participation and are greatly appreciated. 100% of faculty made a gift in 2022-2023 and in 2023-2024—we hope parents can mirror that level of participation!
How will my gift be used?
Gifts to the Annual Fund provide approximately 4-6% of our budget, impacting every student, program, and person at Tower, as well as make capital improvements to our grounds and facility. They are used the same way tuition dollars are used by supporting faculty compensation and professional development, purchasing classroom books and supplies, funding class trips, enhancing curriculum, and maintaining our beautiful campus.
Can I direct my gift to a specific program?
While unrestricted giving allows us the greatest level of flexibility to meet the priorities of the school, gifts may be designated to the following current-use, budget-relieving areas: arts, health and wellness, faculty, program, and tuition assistance.
What is the timing of the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund runs from July 1 through June 30. Early gifts and pledges set a pace for success and gives the school’s administration and Board of Trustees confidence in meeting its goals for the year. Pledges allow your support to be counted immediately with pledge payments due by June 30.
Who supports the Annual Fund?
Each year parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, and faculty contribute to the Annual Fund. Collective support across all constituencies enable us to meet our goals.
