What Golf Format is this tournament?
4-person scramble
How do I get a chance at winning $1,000,000?
There are two ways to qualify to have a “shot” at winning a million dollars.
1. Be the closest to the whole after your tee shot on any of the 4, par 3 holes, at Wandermere Golf Course (Holes 2, 5, 14, and 17).
2. The longest putt made in regulation play, out of ALL the participants, on the 5th hole, qualifies for the million dollar shot.
What hole will be designated for the Million Dollar Shot?
The ninth hole at Wandermere Golf Course, which is a par 4, will be an officially measured shot of 165 yards. The head pro will mark the yardage, and supervise the hole.
Do I need to form a 4 person team to play?
No! We will assign you to a team.
How can I win $10,000?
Make a hole-in-one on the par 3, Fifth Hole.
What is the maximum number of mulligans my team can use during the 18 hole round?
Each team is allowed to use up to 10 mulligans. Mulligans cost $5 dollars each.
What is the maximum length of string my team may use to improve, shorten, or assist our golf ball's position on the course during the 18 hole round?
Each team is allowed to buy one, 8 ft. piece of string. Note: Putts must be putted. In other words, If you hit a shot within two feet on a par three, you may not cut off 2 feet of string and count your score as a 1. Likewise, the rule applies to any other situation that would deem a player to take a lower score by simply using string rather than putting.
If I win either the $10,000 or $1,000,000 dollar challenge, do I pay taxes on the winnings?
Yes! All state and federal tax laws apply.
What is the money raised at the Thanks -A- Million Golf Tournament used for?
Tuition Assistance. Over 85% of our students receive some form of financial assistance to offset the cost of tuition which is $6,800.
